What is MULTILAM technology?
MULTILAM is a high-power contact solution used in a socket or plug, which is continuously being developed further. Inserted between two surfaces the MULTILAM is a band which forms a contact cage. Ideal for connectors which require linear or rotary movements due to its ability to excel in performance from signal currents up to extremely high currents. MULTILAM bands significantly reduce the overall contact resistance due to the numerous contact points provided, this is because the design creates many louvres (slats). Stäubli describe these bands as torsion or leaf spring contact elements.
