The Infineon reference design board features ILD8150E, a 80V LED driver IC with an innovative hybrid dimming method. For applications operating close to safety extra low voltage (SELV) limits, it provides a high safety voltage margin. The buck LED driver IC is tailored for LEDs in general lighting applications with average currents up to 1.5A using a high-side integrated switch. Several performance and protection features provide the right fit for professional LED lighting. The reference design ILD8150 provides flexibility to be used up to 1.5A with a short duty cycle. The hysteretic current control is extremely fast and always stable without the need for any loop compensation. It is suitable for applications with a wide range of supply voltages from 8 to 80V, which gives a clear advantage and flexibility comparing to existing 60V solutions.
Over temperature protection PG-DSO-8 package with and without exposed pad Cycle by cycle current limit Under voltage lockout Very low LED current drift over temperature Typical ±3% output current accuracy PWM dimming input up to 20kHz Capable to provide output current up to 1.5A Wide input voltage range from 8 to 80V
