RS PRO POM Mitre Gear, 8 mm Bore, 20 Teeth, 1.5 Module
This mitre gear from RS PRO works together with another of the same kind to transfer a rotational motion to shafts. It's used in equipment such as hand drills and bicycle and motorcycle gears.
This component is made from polyoxymethylene (POM), a thermoplastic material that provides good stiffness and stability. This ensures the gear's continued efficient operation, even under harsh, testing conditions. The plastic doesn't need to be greased, removing the need for scheduled lubrication stoppages. In addition, the material is lightweight, so it requires less energy to run.
A plastic mitre gear is an ideal choice for food packaging applications as it won't corrode in the presence of water and can therefore withstand frequent washdowns. This product is Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant, so it contains only minimal levels of any potentially harmful materials.
