To ensure safety in hazardous areas, opt for this Eaton MTL zener barrier. It's an intrinsic safety isolator that diverts excess energy to the ground to prevent sparking and overheating. This reduces risks such as fire outbreaks and electric shocks that can damage valuable equipment and injure workers. The unit provides a fully-floating DC (direct current) supply to energise a conventional transmitter located in a hazardous area and repeats the current in another floating circuit to drive a safe-area load. You can use it on single-instrument loops or fully equipped cabinets.

Why is intrinsic safety important?


Intrinsic safety lowers the risk of electrical damage and fatal incidents. This low-power technique channels excess electrical signals to minimise the chances of sparks and overheating that can cause fires and electrical shocks in the workplace.

How does a zener diode regulate voltage?


Reverse bias feedback (electrical signals) causes a small leakage. A zener diode regulates it by establishing a breakdown or constant voltage to normalise the flow.
