The STMicroelectronics single low side switch IC features a 65 V absolute maximum rating on the output stage and is capable of driving capacitive, resistive, or inductive loads with one side connected to the supply rail. With a very low RDS ON (≤ 50 mΩ), it is optimized for applications requiring high inrush current up to 25 A, supported by smart overload protection configurable through the IPDX pins. The inrush current level can be adjusted by setting the IPDX pins high or low, or automatically reduced by the IC once the internal timer, regulated by external capacitors on the IPDX pins—expires. Following the inrush current phase, the embedded overload protection limits the steady state output current to the ILIM level, ensuring both IC and load protection for reliable operation.
