The Mentor GmbH straight light guides are designed for use in front panels and with surface mounted (SMD) LEDs. Suitable LEDs include the TOPLED and CHIPLED families from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. This range of light guides has a diagonal inject face which will sit in close proximity to the LED, at a 45° angle. The front panel light guides are made using a clear plastic material. Available in a variety of different dimensions, the light guides have a spherical, planar or Counter bore head shape. Suitable applications include; medical devices, security safety, communications equipment and industrial control.
