The Mascot DC/DC converters are equipped with comprehensive protection mechanisms, including safeguards against reversed polarity and overvoltage using transorb diodes to handle transients. They feature automatic shutdown in cases of input voltages exceeding or falling below specified ranges, and a fuse at the input for added safety. Additionally, they offer thermal protection, short circuit proofing, and overvoltage protection on the output side. Importantly, both the input and output are electrically separated from the chassis, ensuring isolation and safety in operation.
