Light Guides for Front Panels - Straight IP68

This family of light guides, from MENTOR, have been developed from the original 1282 and 1293 light guides. They are a waterproof version with an IP68 rating, tested by MENTOR. A waterproof design is achieved through their unique shape and a precise mounting hole.
MENTOR’s straight light guides are designed for use in front panels and with surface mounted (SMD) LEDs. Suitable LEDs include the SIDELED, TOPLED and CHIPLED families from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. This range of light guides has a straight inject face which will sit in close proximity to the LED, at a 0° angle.
The front panel light guides are made using a clear plastic material. Available in a variety of different dimensions, the light guides have a spherical, planar or Counterbore head shape. Suitable applications include; medical devices, security safety, communications equipment and industrial control. Their IP68 waterproofing makes them ideal for use in applications with harsh environments.

LED Light Pipes, MENTOR - Front Panels

MENTOR light guides are designed to transmit light from a PCB-mounted LED to the desired user interface. This transfer is completed with little or no loss of luminance and no light bleed between adjacent elements.
This vast range of light guides are available in single or multiple light guide options, with a range of head shapes and sizes. These options allow them to provide a solution for all sorts of applications. They also offer simple installation and high ESD protection.
Front panel light guides are ideal for applications where the light guide is not attached to the PCB. They push-fit into a hole in the front panel with the light-inject face close to the LED. Front panel light guides therefore provide a variety of design options.
