RS PRO Transparent Silicone Tubing, 0.8 mm Bore Size, 3 m Long, Food Grade, Peristaltic Pump Compatible

This flexible silicone tubing from RS PRO is ideal for use with a peristaltic pump. It's certified as food-grade, withstands sterilisation and can be used in temperatures down to -50°C and up to +200°C. This makes it ideal for use in the food processing industry. The tubing is transparent, meaning you can make a visual check on the fluid moving through it.
This type of tubing is commonly used with peristaltic pumps to carry liquids, gases and solutions at low pressure. Settings where peristaltic pumps are found include juice production, circuit board manufacture and nutrient supply for lab cultures. This tube contains only minimal amounts of any harmful materials too, so it meets RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) standards.

Other Peristaltic Pumps

Pumps for accurate pumping of liquids, gases and solutions, at low flow rates. The peristaltic pumping action is illustrated in the diagram. The three basic operations are: the advancing roller squeezes the tube which, as it recovers, draws in fluid which becomes trapped in the tube by the next roller and expelled from the tube as the rollers continue to rotate. This technique ensures that there is no contamination of the fluid or the pump as the fluid is totally contained in the tube; the gentle pumping action supplies accurate flow rates and as the pump is self-priming it can run dry.,Peristaltic pumps are ideal for use in laboratories, food processing/fermentation plants and beverage dispensers; with ink/photographic solutions, pharmaceuticals and many more applications so long as the fluid is compatible with the carrying tube material.
