The MCX micro miniature coaxial plug connection is a snap connection. It is not just a smaller version of the SMB plug connector. The inner conductor and insulator are equivalent to those of the SMB, but the housing and latching mechanism are much smaller — the contact offers the reliability of an SMB plug but requires 30% less space. Electrically, the plug connections are in accordance with MIL-C-39012-SMB. The cable is connected by crimping the outer conductor and soldering the inner conductor. The spring contact parts are made from CuBe2 and the insulated parts from PTFE with brass; the housing and inner and outer conductors are gold-plated. Supplied with assembly instructions
