A plinth is a heavy base, platform or stand which supports a structure, column, pedestal, monument or cabinet. The plinth was originally designed as a weight bearing base, which usually rests on the ground. It acts as a support between the ground and the structure.
Types of Plinths
There are a number of different types of plinths depending upon your need for one whether it be architectural or engineering. Plinth bases install under an enclosure and are designed to provide space for bottom entry cables into the access panel. They provide simple cable access for installation and ongoing cable maintenance within the enclosure.Plinths come in a range of materials, sizes and colours all of which are related to your individual requirements. Some plinth bases have adjustable feet and removable covers to allow access entry from all sides. Some are fixed to a wall and others are mobile, with a load carrying capacity limit.
