The 4D Systems gen4 4DCAPE range resistive touch is specifically designed for the Beagle Bone Black and is intended solely for use with it. However, it has also been successfully used by customers with the Beagle Bone Green and Beagle Bone Black Wireless. The display features an onboard Microchip AR1021 resistive touch controller in the Resistive Touch version, which communicates with the Beagle Bone over I2C, offering a more robust and noise-resistant platform compared to earlier models that relied on analog inputs. The Capacitive Touch version integrates a Focaltech capacitive touch controller, which also communicates via I2C.
