USB-COM-PLUS Modules

The USB-COM-PLUS modules provide a simple method of adapting legacy serial devices with RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 interfaces to modern USB ports.

USB-COM232-Plus

The USB-COM232-PLUS1 module is a single channel USB to RS-232 communication device. Utilises the FTDI FT232R
The USB-COM232-PLUS2 module is a single USB interface to two independent RS-232 ports, communication device. Utilises the FTDI FT2232H (USB 2.0 Hi-Speed device)

RS-232 level shifters are included, plus Power/TXD/RXD LEDs

FTDI Chip Adapter Board

The FTDI Chip adaptor board provides a simple method of adapting legacy serial devices with RS232 interfaces to modern USB ports. This is accomplished by incorporating the industry standard FTDI FT232R USB-serial bridge chip. The integrated electronics of the board utilise the FTDI FT232R and includes RS232 level shifters plus TXD/RXD LEDs to provide a visual indication of data traffic through the module. This module uses a standard USB-B device connector for connection to an upstream host or hub port. It requires USB device drivers, which are used to make the board appear as a Virtual COM Port (VCP). This allows existing serial communication software such as HyperTerminal to exchange data through the board to a legacy RS232 peripheral device.
