Singapore, 14 March 2011 :

RS Components today announced a major program to support medical design. It has not only added more than 500 new products to its already substantial portfolio, but also unveiled a dedicated area on its website and embarked on a focussed promotional campaign.

RS has significantly extended its range of connectors, electromechanical components and power supplies designed specifically for medical applications or highly suited to such systems. Additions include Lemo Redel connectors, the medically-approved TES range of DC/DC Convertors from Traco Power and the Molex MiniFit Plus HCS range, as well as keypads and other products. New lines from Recom power supplies, Tyco Electronics, Hirose and Panasonic are also included in the 500 additions to the RS medical product range. The range is brought together through a dedicated medical landing page and application area on the singapore.rs-online.com website, which also offers relevant technology articles and application notes. The site also highlights related products suitable for medical use such as semiconductors, hardware, test equipment, tools and health and safety products.

Commenting, Valerie Ramon, Electro-mechanical and Connectors Business Manager said “RS has long had a very strong offering of medical electronics technology. This range has been brought right up to date, and is being backed by outstanding online resources that provide our customers with trusted, authoritative information on which to base their design decisions. We aim to be a key resource for design engineers working in the medical market.”

Medical designers visiting rs-components.com can also use the other online design resources recently introduced by RS. These include a comprehensive library of certified 3D and 2D CAD models of electromechanical components, downloadable free of charge, in over 20 neutral and native formats. Developed in partnership with TraceParts, the service will eventually cover all 45,000 electromechanical components available from RS. Also available is Component Chooser, the world’s largest and most extensive parametric search engine of electronic components, providing an instantly accessible and consistent search and compare tool for 260,000 semiconductor, passive and electromechanical components from the world’s leading suppliers.
